The New MustTap Scoring System!

Posted on 18 January 2010 by Jon Lim

Hey folks,

So we’ve decided to create a new scoring system that makes the site more visually appealing as well as easier to judge whether a game is up to par or not. Our very own Nick Kornek has made these amazing illustrations as well as having masterminded the entire system, so definitely give him your kudos! Here are the different levels we are using:

Broken Tap
“Straight up busted! You won’t get anything good out of this one.”

Basically the bottom rung of games – you aren’t going to get much worse than this, and it probably shouldn’t be on sale in the app store. We’ve done you a favour by playing it for you – so you don’t have to suffer through it as we did.

Rusty Tap
“It works, but I still wouldn’t drink from it.”

The game is technically serviceable – we just wouldn’t play it beyond this review. There are probably some flaws that took way too much away from the game, or it was just poor quality in general. Either way, it’s alright but not completely up to par.

Iron Tap
“It’s technically solid, but what comes out is pretty plain.”

The game is solid, average, decent – but that’s about it. It isn’t going to wow you, and you aren’t going to be addicted to it, but you might enjoy it for a while. Give it a whirl and see if it suits your tastes.

Silver Tap
“Looks great and gives out some quality stuff!”

Pretty good quality game that is above average, we enjoyed it and we’re keeping it on our iPhones and iPod Touches so we can play some more. Definitely recommended!

Golden Tap
“The best of the best; everything about this is perfect.”

This game is so good that we had to wipe the drool away from our mouths after playing. In fact, we may have played a little too much to the point that the review was probably published a lot later than we had planned because we were too busy playing the game. If you don’t have this game on your device, we strongly recommend you get it.

We’ll be adding these descriptions to a page on the site to make sure that everyone knows how we judge games – also because I personally think they’re great. We hope you enjoy our gradual improvements, and be sure to tell Nick Kornek how much you love his designs!
