Snack attack is the last part of the trifecta of iPhone apps currently available from the Zimmer Twins cartoons, and like the others, feels like a great mini game that all ages can enjoy. Check it out!

Snack Attack is the third installment of games from the Zimmer Twins cartoon franchise of Teletoon, made by zinc Roe Designs.

The Game

Take that, stupid mummy.
Take that, stupid mummy.

Snack Attack is a very simple game: fat kids coming at you. Okay, it isn’t that simple, but the scenario is that it is Halloween and trick-or-treaters are hungry, and they are storming your front door for some of that sweet, sweet candy. Of course, you don’t want them to take your entire stash, so you chuck one or two pieces at them to keep them at bay. This is basically the manifestation of all of the problems we, as a society, would face should we ever run out of food: fat kids will storm your doors and steal whatever they can get their hands on.

Jokes aside, Snack Attack plays like a devilishly simple game. You tap and hold onto your bowl to increase power, and let go to launch your sugar missiles. You can also tap and hold with two fingers to release a candy bomb that will take care of every child around its immediate vicinity. Survive as long as possible without letting those darned kids touch your candy bowl, and score as many points as possible. You will receive more points the farther back you can nail a kid with your candy, so try to be ready for them!

Graphics

There are too many of them!
There are too many of them!

The art of the Zimmer Twins games has always been the drawing point for me because they are so well drawn, smoothly animated, and are very cute. You can see what sort of enemies you will face in the screenshots, but there are quite a few more not pictured.

Sound

The sound track for Snack Attack is my favourite so far of all the Zimmer Twins games simply because it feels like a real Halloween track and it is very high energy. Real fitting of the game. The sound effects are quite good, specific kids will make certain noises when you hit them with candy, like the beep boop of the kid in the robot outfit, or the groan of the fat kid who takes two hits to kill.

Additional Comments

As always, I felt the game was a bit short but for the price it is really expected. Snack Attack is a great game to pass around with friends to compete on who can get the highest score, or just a game to entertain your kids or nephews and nieces.

Conclusion

Snack Attack is a great little game that is quick, simple, and really fun for all ages. The art behind it is fantastic, and the soundtrack, in my opinion, is the best of the three Zimmer Twins iPhone games, definitely worth checking out!

    - Very simple and easy game to play
    - Graphics are well drawn and polished
    - Will keep your reflexes sharp

    - No depth
    - Feels a little too short

Flying Furball is a great iPhone game for the Zimmer Twins cartoon, great for all ages and doesn’t take a great time commitment to play. Definitely worth checking out.

Flying Furball is the second game developed by zinc Roe Design for the Zimmer Twins cartoon series on Telesoon.

The Game

Shotgun Edgar's head!
Shotgun Edgar’s head!

Flying Furball has the lovable cat of the Zimmer Twins sitting on the head of none other than Edgar Zimmer himself. The goal of the game is to collect as many fish bones possible, while dodging all of the obstacles thrown into your path. You can tap the right side of the screen to duck underneath obstacles (And collect lower fish bones) and the left side of the screen to jump over obstacles (And of course, collect higher fish bones.) With every hit of an obstacle, the little black cat loses a little bit more of its health until it hits zero, at which point the game ends. Fortunately, when you collect a fish bone, it replenishes a bit of your health, and when collected consecutively without being hit by an obstacle or missing one, the point value of each fish bone increases by 50.

You make kitty sad. :(
You make kitty sad. :(

There are three different environments (Pictured in the screenshots) that all have different obstacles to trip up your dear cat. At the end of the third level, you have officially beaten the game and your score has been registered. The game itself is very simple, fun, and does not take a whole lot of time commitment. Perfect for passing around with friends and seeing which of you has terrible reflexes.

Graphics

The art behind Zimmer Twins, as mentioned in the Stunt Wagon review, is fantastic. All of the drawings and animations are well polished and very pleasing to the eye. The art of Flying Furball is definitely one of the strongest points of the game.

Sound

Flying Furball has a very simple soundtrack, probably inspired from the Zimmer Twins cartoons itself and it works. It is very casual and light, much like the game itself.

Additional Comments

Much like the Stunt Wagon review, I wish I could enter my name into the score board so at least I could track where I was. Otherwise my boasting abilities are limited, but then again I could just claim the top spot on the board as my own. I guess there are pros and cons to this approach.

Conclusion

Flying Furball is a fun and simple game that is quick and will definitely keep sharpen your reflexes over time. Fun for all ages, and possibly a great party or group game, it is definitely worth checking out.

MustTap Score Iron Tap

    - Very quick and fun game
    - Well polished and animated
    - Can be passed around with friends

    - Not much depth
    - Hitting obstacles is way too easy

A great little game based on a popular cartoon franchise, made for kids but everyone will have fun with it, definitely worth checking out.

Stunt Wagon is a game released by zinc Roe Design, based on the Zimmer Twins cartoon series on Teletoon.

The Game

Go kitty, go!
Go kitty, go!

Stunt Wagon has you choosing one of the three characters, Edgar Zimmer, Eva Zimmer, and their adorable black cat. The character you choose will then hop on a wagon, and go flying down a road full of obstacles. These obstacles are pylons, which will slow you down temporarily, and tires, which will eject your character from the wagon, costing you precious seconds! As implied, the aim of the game is to make it to the bottom of the track before the timer expires, for three rounds, with each round increasing the number of obstacles. And to dodge those obstacles, you just have to simply tilt your device up and down in the direction you wish to go. In addition, tapping and holding onto the screen lets your wagon levitate, thanks to your super psychic powers (Should have mentioned that earlier, eh?) and you can levitate over any obstacles you just can’t navigate quick enough around.

This kitten has wings!
This kitten has wings!

The simplicity of Stunt Wagon is one of its strengths, never needing more than five or six minutes to register a score, which you can then add to the high score board. It truly is one of those games you can just play whenever, and it ensures that you can have fun real quick.

Graphics

Stunt Wagon has great art from the cartoon itself, which doesn’t need to be explained too much because you can see how clean and polished it looks in screen shots. The animations are excellent and are well fleshed out, I definitely thought it did the cartoon series justice.

Sound

Stunt Wagon has a great, up-tempo soundtrack that I can only assume comes from the show, and it really gets you going. The sound effects for Stunt Wagon are very effective, as they really add that extra oomph that a game needs to be really complete and polished.

Additional Comments

I'm at the top! ...I think.
I’m at the top! …I think.

Unfortunately, Stunt Wagon doesn’t allow you to play your iPod songs while playing the game, regardless if you turn off the in-game music or not. One of my main complaints with the game is that I can appear to miss a tire, but I will still run into it. My solution was to simply float over any tires in my way, but that can only last for so long! Also, the score boards just seem to be numbers from greatest to least with no name, which makes boasting a heck of a lot harder!

Conclusion

Stunt Wagon is one of three games currently available for the Zimmer Twins franchise, and each game feels a lot like a mini-game for the series, which is perfect for quick and fun gaming, definitely worth checking out!
